PROACTIVE Concussion Recovery Toolkit

HOW TO USE THIS RESOURCE TO PROACTIVELY MANAGE CONCUSSIONS

ACHIEVES offers this resource to school systems to help make sure that individuals who provide educational support to children have a good understanding of the challenges that may surface after a concussion is diagnosed and of the steps needed to help these students ACHIEVE a successful recovery.

This toolkit highlights the vital roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder within a school, household, and athletic/recreation program when assisting in the prevention, recognition, and management of a student’s concussion.

The color-coded system in this online resource highlights each team’s role in the process of recovery, for this reason we ask all individuals involved to understand what is expected from their corresponding “team”. We are mindful that not all school systems are equipped with all the personnel listed in the toolkit. We encourage your school to use this as a blueprint design when developing a concussion management approach that fits your school’s needs.
